Israel war on Gaza

the 23 day war on Gaza which killed over 1450, injured (critically, maimingly) over 5000, and clearly targeted civilians and the infrastructure to live.

Zionist drones and warplanes pollute Gaza’s skies immediately after 9 pm “cease-fire”

After one week of Israel’s Nov 14th declaration of war on Gaza, a cease-fire was allegedly reached between Hamas and other resistance and Israel.  Yet, 10 minutes after the 9pm cease-fire began, an Israeli warplane bombed a media office in Gaza’s southern Khan Younis city, and drones and Israeli F-16 warplanes continued to fill Gaza’s skies. Late into the night, 2 am, the drones and warplanes still pollute Gaza’s skies, psychological terror on a terrorized people who had more than 160 killed and over 1000 injured by Israeli bombing in the span of a week, and who know very well that the sound of a drone or an F-16 roaring overhead usually means death. “No Cease-fire Yet”: my interview on CBC Metro Morning, Nov 21, 2012

**This interview was given this afternoon just an hour before going to Deir al Balah’s Al Aqsa hospital for the day where the opposite was true: Israeli attacks on civilians and civilian homes ensued throughout the day, inflicting the most horrific injuries and mutilations.

the killed, the injured by Zionist bombings, Deir al Balah, Nov 20

*Palestinian journalist killed by Israeli drone bombing in Deir al Balah Nov 20, 2012

Mid-morning we are rocked by an Israeli bombing in Deir al Balah. Running to the empty half of the roof, we see it right away, a thick black plume of smoke rising. CONTINUE READING

Abu Tomaa house, Deir al Balah, now an F-16d crater

The home of the Abu Tomaa family, bombed today first by an Israeli drone and minutes later by an Israeli F-16. Tuesday being a market day in Deir al Balah (despite the continuous Israeli bombings, life must go on in Gaza, in spite of the threat of being on the street), not many were near the home at the time of the bombing. That said, at least 5 were injured in the bombing, including 2 children. A fire broke out in the area, and neighbouring houses were damaged in the bombing.      CONTINUE READING

latest bombing, close by

huge blast in Deir just now (5:20 pm Gaza Time), less than 500 metres away.  Could be the azza (funeral) for some of today’s martyrs in Deir, could be near the disabled centre on the main street, Emad speculates.

Israel doesn’t shy away from bombing funeral tents, so entirely possible.  Zananas (drone) heavy above us…

UPDATE: one of Emad’s nephew comes to tell us the blast was at the home of Abu Tomaa family, hit twice already today (we were there one hour ago)

Zionist attacks on Gaza, some glimpses, day 7

*photo of leaflets the Israeli army has dropped on various parts of Gaza (confirmed the north of Gaza and Tel el Howa, likely more areas). There may be more than one variety of leaflet, but at least one, reports Al Jazeera, says for residents of northern Gaza to head towards central Gaza. In other words, evacuate your homes again because we are going to destroy them again.

It does seem as though Israel is prepared to really target that area in the next few hours… They’re being told to leave the border areas.  These areas are usually quite heavily targeted anyhow, they’re very vulnerable… there are regular Israeli incursions into these areas…They’re being told to get out. The problem is, though, where will they go? This is where they live, this is where their homes are…the Gaza Strip is tiny and there aren’t places set up for them to go.” (Al Jazeera)   CONTINUE READING

Gaza under Zionist bombs: day 6 since Nov 14 (but not including all those Zionist attacks leading up to the 14th)

The drones are at it, that grating sound of multiple UAVs (“drones”) circling in the sky, the disharmony of their buzzes clashing into one’s psyche, ramping up levels of frustration and terror. And since the 2008-2009 Israeli massacre of the Gaza Strip (killing over 1500 when all had succumbed to their Israeli army-inflicted wounds) I had still heard the zananas‘ whine, but it had been a while since their presence was so continuous, abrasive and terrifying.
